DRAMAFEST SOUTHWEST is a series of youth-focused drama and acting workshops led by an international award-winning artist, bringing professional, industry-level training directly to regional communities. These hands-on sessions are designed to build confidence, creativity, and performance skills—giving young people the opportunity to access high-quality training in their own towns. By bringing experienced professionals into regional areas, the program creates meaningful opportunities for young performers to grow, right where they are.


The Creative Force Behind DRAMAFEST SOUTHWEST
Jennifer (Jenn) Monk is an international award-winning artist with over 20 years’ experience in theatre, film, and digital series. Trained at La Trobe University, St Martins Youth Arts Centre, and graduating with honours from the London School of Dramatic Arts, she has performed and created work on respected stages like La Mama Theatre, The Malthouse, and The Butterfly Club, and her films have screened at festivals worldwide.
Her accolades include the Michael Ajakwe Jr Awards for Achievement and Innovation (LA and Sydney WebFest), Best Actress honors from Sydney Indie Film Festival and Washington Film Awards, as well as multiple directing and acting nominations.
Having grown up in a small town herself, Jenn is passionate about bringing professional, industry-level drama training to regional youth through DRAMAFEST SOUTH, empowering them to develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills without having to leave home.

Having grown up in regional Victoria, Jenn understands how limited access to professional performing arts opportunities can be. When she isn't working as an actor, producer, or director, she returns to South West Victoria to deliver DRAMAFEST and help the next generation of young performers discover their confidence, creativity, and potential.
